Day out at Beautiful National Trust Property Chartwell House
Description
Chartwell House & Gardens in Westerham is synonymous with the life and work of Sir Winston Churchill. He bought the house and 82 acres in 1922 and with the help of his wife, Clementine, they developed the gardens, fruit trees, woodland, and wider meadows.
They were both amateurs but with their enthusiasm and creativity, they fashioned gardens that are as beautiful as they are varied throughout the year.
The calming surroundings of Chartwell House must have been a haven for Sir Winston Churchill, as a respite from the horrors of the war years and his own personal struggles with depression.
The prize consists of an all-access ticket for one family group (of 2 adults and up to 3 children) where you can take in the stunningly maintained gardens and even enjoy a picnic, or lunch from the estates' Landmere café, overlooking far-reaching views of the Weald of Kent.
